8So the Israelites did as Joshua commanded them. They took twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, as the LORD had told Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the Israelites. They carried them over with them to their camp and set them down there.
9Joshua also set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan, under the place where the priests carrying the ark of the covenant stood, and they are there to this day.
10The priests carrying the ark stood in the middle of the Jordan until everything was completed that the LORD commanded Joshua to tell the people, just as Moses had instructed Joshua. The people hurried and crossed over.
11When all the people had completed crossing, the ark of the LORD and the priests also crossed over, in the sight of the people.

51'Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
15Then the LORD said to Joshua,
16“Command the priests carrying the ark of the testimony to come up from the Jordan.”
17So Joshua commanded the priests, saying, “Come up from the Jordan.”

13And their children, who do not know it yet, will hear it and learn to fear the LORD your God as long as you live in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess.
16As for you, lift up your staff, stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it, so the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.
1When all the kings of the Amorites west of the Jordan and all the kings of the Canaanites by the sea heard how the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan to allow the Israelites to cross, their hearts melted, and they lost all courage because of the Israelites.
25The LORD has made the Jordan a boundary between us and you—you Reubenites and Gadites! You have no share in the LORD.’ So your descendants might cause ours to stop worshiping the LORD.
3The sea saw it and fled; the Jordan turned back.
1Joshua rose early in the morning, and he and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and came to the Jordan. They stayed there before crossing over.
11“Go through the camp and command the people, ‘Prepare your provisions, for in three days you will cross the Jordan to take possession of the land the LORD your God is giving you to inherit.’”
1Then the Israelites traveled and camped in the plains of Moab, across the Jordan River near Jericho.
32We will cross over armed before the Lord into the land of Canaan, but the possession of our inheritance will be on this side of the Jordan."
22I will die in this land; I am not crossing the Jordan, but you are about to cross over and take possession of that good land.
39And the little ones you said would be taken as plunder—your children who do not yet know good from evil—they will enter the land. I will give it to them, and they will take possession of it.
2Know today that it was not your children, who did not know and have not seen, but you who witnessed the discipline of the LORD your God—His greatness, His strong hand, and His outstretched arm.
21and all your armed men cross over the Jordan before the Lord until He has driven out His enemies from His presence—
