1There was a man from the hill country of Ephraim whose name was Micah.
2He said to his mother, 'The eleven hundred pieces of silver that were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse and even spoke it in my hearing—look, the silver is with me; I took it.' And his mother said, 'May the LORD bless my son!'

9Micah asked him, 'Where are you coming from?' He replied, 'I am a Levite from Bethlehem in Judah, and I am traveling to find a place to stay.'
10Micah said to him, 'Stay with me and be a father and a priest to me, and I will give you ten pieces of silver a year, a set of clothes, and your living expenses.' The Levite agreed to stay.
11The Levite agreed to live with the man, and the young man became like one of his own sons.
12Micah ordained the Levite, and the young man became his priest and lived in Micah's house.
3As they were near Micah's house, they recognized the voice of the young Levite. They turned aside and said to him, 'Who brought you here? What are you doing in this place? And what is your purpose here?'

5They said to him, 'Please inquire of God so that we may know whether our journey will be successful.'

14Then the five men who had gone to scout out the land of Laish said to their fellow Danites, 'Do you know that in these houses there's an ephod, household gods, a carved image, and a cast idol? Now think about what you should do.'
15So they turned aside there and went to the house of the young Levite, at Micah's house, and asked him how he was doing.
18When they entered Micah's house and took the carved image, the ephod, the household gods, and the cast idol, the priest said to them, 'What are you doing?'
19They answered him, 'Be quiet! Put your hand over your mouth and come with us. Be a father and a priest to us. Isn’t it better for you to be a priest for a tribe and a clan in Israel rather than for one man's household?'
20The priest was glad in his heart. He took the ephod, the household gods, and the carved image and went along with the people.
4Then you will know that I have sent this command to you so that My covenant with Levi may continue, says the Lord of Hosts.
17And some of the elders of the land stood up and spoke to the whole assembly of the people, saying:
35Then I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest, who will do according to what is in My heart and in My mind. I will build him a sure house, and he will walk before My anointed one forever.
6If a Levite comes from any of your towns anywhere in Israel where he resides, and he desires with all his heart to go to the place that the LORD chooses,
7then he may minister in the name of the LORD his God like all his fellow Levites who serve there before the LORD.
10But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken Him. The priests who serve the LORD are the descendants of Aaron, and the Levites carry out their responsibilities.
1The word of the LORD that came to Micah of Moresheth during the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.

13But Micaiah said, 'As surely as the LORD lives, I will say whatever my God says to me.'
14I will satisfy the priests with abundance, and my people will be filled with my goodness, declares the LORD.
18The LORD revealed their plans to me, and I knew what they were plotting, for he showed me their deeds.
21And I will also take some of them as priests and Levites, says the Lord.
14But Micaiah said, 'As surely as the LORD lives, I can only speak what the LORD tells me.'
27The Danites took what Micah had made, along with his priest, and came to Laish, to a peaceful and unsuspecting people. They struck them down with the sword and burned the city with fire.
11'Then Elkanah went to his home at Ramah, but the boy stayed to serve the LORD under the supervision of Eli the priest.'
6Bring the tribe of Levi near and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may assist him.

9That is why the Levites have no share or inheritance among their brothers; the LORD Himself is their inheritance, as He promised them.
18Nor will the Levitical priests ever fail to have a man before me to offer burnt offerings, to present grain offerings, and to make sacrifices continually.
19Micaiah continued, 'Therefore, hear the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on His throne, with all the host of heaven standing around Him on His right and on His left.'
