  • 1 Chr 29:14-16 : 14 But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give so generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. 15 For we are strangers and temporary residents before you, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope. 16 LORD our God, all this abundance that we have provided to build you a house for your holy name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you.
  • 1 Cor 15:10 : 10 But by the grace of God, I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.
  • 2 Tim 4:7-8 : 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing.
  • Jas 2:18-26 : 18 But someone will say, 'You have faith, and I have works.' Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that God is one. You do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! 20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith without works is useless? 21 Was not our father Abraham justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith was working together with his works, and by works his faith was made perfect. 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled that says, 'Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,' and he was called a friend of God. 24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 In the same way, was not Rahab the prostitute justified by her actions when she welcomed the messengers and sent them out by another route? 26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
  • Col 1:28-29 : 28 We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. 29 To this end, I labor and struggle with all His energy, which so powerfully works within me.

21'For I was afraid of you, because you are a harsh man. You take what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.'

22He said to him, 'I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a harsh man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow?'

23'Then why didn’t you put my money in the bank, so that when I returned I could have collected it with interest?'

24Then he said to those standing by, 'Take the mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.'

25(They said to him, 'Master, he already has ten minas!')

14For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his own servants and entrusted his belongings to them.

15To one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey immediately.

16The servant who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and made another five talents.

17In the same way, the servant who had two talents also gained two more.

18But the servant who had received the one talent went away, dug a hole in the ground, and hid his master’s money.

19After a long time, the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.

20The servant who had received five talents came and brought five more, saying, ‘Master, you entrusted me with five talents; see, I have gained five more.’

21His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master.’

22The servant who had received two talents also came and said, ‘Master, you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.’

23His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master.’

24Then the servant who had received one talent came and said, ‘Master, I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.

25So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’

26His master answered, ‘You wicked and lazy servant! You knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered.

27Then you should have deposited my money with the bankers, and on my return, I would have received it back with interest.

28So take the talent from him and give it to the one who has ten talents.

29For to everyone who has, more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken away from them.
