Herren talte til Moses og sa,

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

«Tal til Israels barn og si: Om noen synder uvitende på noen av de tingene som Herren har befalt å ikke gjøre, og gjør noe av dem:

"Speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'If anyone sins unintentionally, in any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and does any one of them:

dersom en salvet prest synder og dermed fører skyld over folket, skal han for sin synd, som han har syndet, ofre en ung okse uten lyte til Herren som syndoffer.

if the anointed priest sins so as to bring guilt on the people, then let him offer for his sin, which he has sinned, a young bull without blemish to Yahweh for a sin offering.

Han skal føre oksen til inngangen av telthelligdommen for Herren og legge hånden på oksens hode, og slakte oksen for Herren.

He shall bring the bull to the door of the Tent of Meeting before Yahweh; and he shall lay his hand on the head of the bull, and kill the bull before Yahweh.

Den salvede presten skal ta noe av oksens blod og bære det inn i telthelligdommen.

The anointed priest shall take some of the blood of the bull, and bring it to the Tent of Meeting.

Presten skal dyppe fingeren i blodet og skvette noe av blodet syv ganger for Herren, foran forhenget til helligdommen.

The priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before Yahweh, before the veil of the sanctuary.

Presten skal sette noe av blodet på hornene på alteret med velluktende røkelse for Herren, som er i telthelligdommen, og han skal helle ut resten av oksens blod ved foten av brennofferalteret, som står ved inngangen til telthelligdommen.

The priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of sweet incense before Yahweh, which is in the tent of meeting; and he shall pour out all the blood of the bull out at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

Han skal ta alt fett fra syndofferoksen; fettet som dekker innvollene, og alt fettet som er på innvollene,

He shall take all the fat of the bull of the sin offering off of it; the fat that covers the innards, and all the fat that is on the innards,

and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the cover on the liver, with the kidneys, he shall take away,

as it is taken off of the ox of the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering.

The bull's skin, all its flesh, with its head, and with its legs, its innards, and its dung,

hele oksen skal han føre utenfor leiren til et rent sted, der hvor asken blir tømt, og brenne det på ved med ild. Der asken blir tømt, skal det brennes.

even the whole bull shall he carry forth outside the camp to a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire. Where the ashes are poured out it shall be burned.

«'Om hele Israels menighet synder, og det er skjult for forsamlingens øyne, og de har gjort noen av de ting som Herren har befalt å ikke gjøre, og er skyldige;

"'If the whole congregation of Israel sins, and the thing is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and are guilty;

når synden, som de har syndet, blir kjent, skal forsamlingen ofre en ung okse som syndoffer, og føre den til inngangen av telthelligdommen.

when the sin in which they have sinned is known, then the assembly shall offer a young bull for a sin offering, and bring it before the Tent of Meeting.

The elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the bull before Yahweh; and the bull shall be killed before Yahweh.

The anointed priest shall bring of the blood of the bull to the Tent of Meeting:

og presten skal dyppe fingeren i blodet, og skvette det syv ganger for Herren, foran forhenget.

and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before Yahweh, before the veil.

Han skal sette noe av blodet på hornene på alteret som står foran Herren, i telthelligdommen; og resten av blodet skal han helle ut ved foten av brennofferalteret, som står ved inngangen til telthelligdommen.

He shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before Yahweh, that is in the Tent of Meeting; and the rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

Alt fettet skal han ta bort fra den, og brenne det på alteret.

All its fat he shall take from it, and burn it on the altar.

Slik skal han gjøre med oksen; som han gjorde med syndofferoksen, slik skal han gjøre det med denne; og presten skal gjøre soning for dem, og de skal bli tilgitt.

Thus shall he do with the bull; as he did with the bull of the sin offering, so shall he do with this; and the priest shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven.

Han skal føre oksen utenfor leiren, og brenne den som han brente den første oksen. Dette er syndofferet for forsamlingen.

He shall carry forth the bull outside the camp, and burn it as he burned the first bull. It is the sin offering for the assembly.

«'Når en fyrste synder, og uvitende gjør noe av alt det som Herren hans Gud har befalt å ikke gjøre, og er skyldig;

"'When a ruler sins, and unwittingly does any one of all the things which Yahweh his God has commanded not to be done, and is guilty;

dersom synden han har syndet blir gjort kjent for ham, skal han som sitt offer bringe en geitebukk, en hann uten lyte.

if his sin, in which he has sinned, is made known to him, he shall bring as his offering a goat, a male without blemish.

Han skal legge hånden på bukkens hode og slakte den der hvor de slakter brennofferet for Herren. Det er et syndoffer.

He shall lay his hand on the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before Yahweh. It is a sin offering.

Presten skal ta noe av syndofferets blod på fingeren sin og sette det på hornene på brennofferalteret. Han skal helle ut resten av blodet ved foten av alteret.

The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering. He shall pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering.

«'Om noen av vanlig folk synder uvitende, når han gjør noe av det som Herren har befalt å ikke gjøre, og er skyldig;

"'If anyone of the common people sins unwittingly, in doing any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and is guilty;

dersom hans synd, som han har syndet, blir gjort kjent for ham, skal han som sitt offer bringe en geit, en hunn uten lyte for sin synd som han har syndet.

if his sin, which he has sinned, is made known to him, then he shall bring for his offering a goat, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has sinned.

Han skal legge hånden på syndofferets hode, og slakte syndofferet på samme plass som brennofferet.

He shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and kill the sin offering in the place of burnt offering.

Presten skal ta noe av blodet på hans finger, og sette det på hornene på brennofferalteret; og resten av blodet skal han helle ut ved foten av alteret.

The priest shall take some of its blood with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering; and the rest of its blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar.

Alt fettet skal han ta bort, slik som fettet tas bort fra fredsofferet; og presten skal brenne det på alteret som en velduft for Herren; og presten skal gjøre soning for ham, og han skal bli tilgitt.

All its fat he shall take away, like the fat is taken away from off of the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it on the altar for a sweet savor to Yahweh; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.

«'Om han bringer et lam som sitt offer for synd, skal han bringe en hunn uten lyte.

"'If he brings a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he shall bring a female without blemish.

Han skal legge hånden på syndofferets hode, og slakte det som syndoffer på samme sted som de slakter brennofferet.

He shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and kill it for a sin offering in the place where they kill the burnt offering.

Presten skal ta noe av syndofferets blod på fingeren og sette det på hornene på brennofferalteret; og resten av blodet skal han helle ut ved foten av alteret.

The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering; and all the rest of its blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar.

Alt fettet skal han ta bort, slik som fettet blir tatt bort fra offerlammet ved fredsofferet; og presten skal brenne det på Herrens alter av ildoffere; og presten skal gjøre soning for ham for hans synd som han har syndet, og han skal bli tilgitt.

All its fat he shall take away, like the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them on the altar, on the offerings of Yahweh made by fire; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned, and he will be forgiven.
