For din kjærlighet rekker opp til himmelen. Din trofasthet når til skyene.

For your loving kindness is great above the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

Vær opphøyet, Gud, over himlene, la din herlighet være over hele jorden.

Be exalted, God, above the heavens, Let your glory be over all the earth.

Så dine kjære kan bli reddet, frels med din høyre hånd, og svar oss.

That your beloved may be delivered, Save with your right hand, and answer us.

Gud har talt fra sin helligdom: "I triumf vil jeg dele ut Sikem, og måle opp Sukkots dal.

God has spoken from his sanctuary: "In triumph, I will divide Shechem, and measure out the valley of Succoth.

Gilead er min. Manasse er min. Også Efraim er min hjelm. Juda er min kongestav.

Gilead is mine. Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is my helmet. Judah is my scepter.

Moab er mitt vaskefat. Jeg vil kaste min sandal på Edom. Jeg vil rope over Filisterland."

Hvem vil føre meg til den befestede byen? Hvem har ført meg til Edom?

Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who has led me to Edom?

Har du ikke forkastet oss, Gud? Du går ikke ut med våre hærer, Gud.

Haven't you rejected us, God? You don't go forth, God, with our armies.

Gi oss hjelp mot fienden, for menneskers hjelp er forgjeves.

Give us help against the enemy, For the help of man is vain.

Gjennom Gud skal vi handle modig. Det er han som skal trampe våre fiender ned.

Through God, we will do valiantly. For it is he who will tread down our enemies.
