1 Paulus, ein Apostel, nicht von Menschen noch durch Menschen, sondern durch Jesus Christus, an die Brüder, die in Laodizea sind.

Paul, an apostle not of men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ, unto the brethren that are at Laodicea.

2 Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von Gott, dem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus.

Grace be unto you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Ich danke Christus in all meinen Gebeten, dass ihr in ihm bleibt und in seinen Werken ausharrt, auf die Verheißung am Tag des Gerichts wartend.

I give thanks unto Christ in all my prayers, that ye continue in him and persevere in his works, looking for the promise at the day of judgement.

4 Lasst euch nicht von den eitlen Reden einiger beirren, die sich einschleichen, um euch von der Wahrheit des Evangeliums, das von mir gepredigt wird, abzubringen.

Neither do the vain talkings of some overset you, which creep in, that they may turn you away from the truth of the Gospel which is preached by me.

5 Und jetzt wird Gott bewirken, dass die, die zu mir gehören, fortfahren, das Wachstum der Wahrheit des Evangeliums zu fördern und Gutes zu vollbringen, und die Arbeit des Heils, nämlich das ewige Leben, zu vollenden.

And now shall God cause that they that are of me shall continue ministering unto the increase of the truth of the Gospel and accomplishing goodness, and the work of salvation, even eternal life.

6 Und jetzt sind meine Fesseln allen Menschen sichtbar, die ich in Christus leide, worin ich mich freue und froh bin.

And now are my bonds seen of all men, which I suffer in Christ, wherein I rejoice and am glad.

7 Und für mich ist dies die ewige Errettung, die auch durch eure Gebete und den Dienst des Heiligen Geistes zustande kommt, sei es im Leben oder im Tod.

And unto me this is for everlasting salvation, which also is brought about by your prayers, and the ministry of the Holy Ghost, whether by life or by death.

8 Denn wahrlich, für mich ist das Leben in Christus, und zu sterben ist Freude.

For verily to me life is in Christ, and to die is joy.

9 Und zu ihm soll er seine Barmherzigkeit in euch wirken, damit ihr dieselbe Liebe habt und eines Sinnes seid.

And unto him (or And also) shall he work his mercy in you that ye may have the same love, and be of one mind.

10 Darum, ihr Geliebten, wie ihr in meiner Gegenwart gehört habt, haltet fest und arbeitet in der Furcht Gottes, und es wird euch zum ewigen Leben sein.

Therefore, dearly beloved, as ye have heard in my presence so hold fast and work in the fear of God, and it shall be unto you for life eternal.

11 Denn Gott ist es, der in euch wirkt.

For it is God that worketh in you.

12 Und handelt ohne Hintergedanken, was immer ihr tut.

And do ye without afterthought whatsoever ye do.

13 Und für das Übrige, ihr Geliebten, freut euch in Christus und hütet euch vor denen, die vom Reichtum befleckt sind.

And for the rest, dearly beloved, rejoice in Christ, and beware of them that are filthy in lucre.

14 Lasst all eure Bitten offen vor Gott gemacht werden und seid standhaft im Geist Christi.

Let all your petitions be made openly before God, and be ye steadfast in the mind of Christ.

15 Und was gesund, wahr, nüchtern, gerecht und liebenswert ist, tut ihr.

And what things are sound and true and sober and just and to be loved, do ye.

16 Und was ihr gehört und empfangen habt, haltet fest in eurem Herzen.

And what ye have heard and received, keep fast in your heart.

17 Und Friede soll mit euch sein.

And peace shall be unto you.

18 Die Heiligen grüßen euch.

The saints salute you.

19 Die Gnade des Herrn Jesus sei mit eurem Geist.

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with your spirit.

20 Und lasst diesen Brief an die von Kolossä gelesen werden, und den Brief an die Kolosser bei euch gelesen werden.

And cause this epistle to be read unto them of Colossae, and the epistle of the Colossians to be read unto you.
