11I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned away from following me and has not carried out my commands. This grieved Samuel, and he cried out to the LORD all night.

12'Nevertheless, for the sake of David your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son.'
18Now do it! For the Lord has promised David, 'By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel from the Philistines and from all their enemies.’'

15He said, 'You know that the kingdom was mine and that all Israel turned their faces to me to make me king. But the kingdom has been transferred and has become my brother's, for it was the LORD's will.'
8I tore the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it to you. But you have not been like My servant David, who kept My commandments and followed Me with all his heart, doing only what was right in My eyes.
7The LORD said to Samuel, 'Listen to the voice of the people in all that they say to you. It is not you they have rejected but they have rejected me as their king.
14He did not seek guidance from the LORD, so the LORD put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David, son of Jesse.
30When the Lord has fulfilled for my lord all the good things he promised and has appointed you ruler over Israel,
15Against whom has the king of Israel come out? Who are you pursuing? A dead dog? A flea?
16May the LORD be our judge and decide between us. May He see and plead my case and vindicate me from your hand.
17When David finished speaking these words to Saul, Saul asked, 'Is that your voice, my son David?' And Saul wept aloud.
