A alm of Asaph. God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

2 Hvor lenge vil dere dømme urettferdig og vise fordel for de onde? Selah.

How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

3 Forsvar de fattige og farløse: gjør rett mot de undertrykte og trengende.

Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

4 Redd de fattige og trengende: fri dem ut av de ondes hånd.

Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

5 De vet ikke, og de forstår ikke; de vandrer i mørke: alle jordens grunnvoller vakler.

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

6 Jeg har sagt: Dere er guder; og dere er alle Den Høyestes barn.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

7 Men dere skal dø som mennesker, og falle som en av fyrstene.

But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

8 Reis deg, Gud, døm jorden: for du skal arve alle nasjonene.

Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
