The righteous{H6662} perisheth{H6}{(H8804)}, and no man{H376} layeth{H7760}{(H8802)} it to heart{H3820}: and merciful{H2617} men{H582} are taken away{H622}{(H8737)}, none considering{H995}{(H8688)} that the righteous{H6662} is taken away{H622}{(H8738)} from{H6440} the evil{H7451} to come.

He shall enter{H935}{(H8799)} into peace{H7965}: they shall rest{H5117}{(H8799)} in their beds{H4904}, each one walking{H1980}{(H8802)} in his uprightness{H5228}.

But draw near{H7126}{(H8798)} hither, ye sons{H1121} of the sorceress{H6049}{(H8781)}, the seed{H2233} of the adulterer{H5003}{(H8764)} and the whore{H2181}{(H8799)}.

Against whom do ye sport{H6026}{(H8691)} yourselves? against whom make ye a wide{H7337}{(H8686)} mouth{H6310}, and draw out{H748}{(H8686)} the tongue{H3956}? are ye not children{H3206} of transgression{H6588}, a seed{H2233} of falsehood{H8267},

Enflaming{H2552}{(H8737)} yourselves with idols{H410} under every green{H7488} tree{H6086}, slaying{H7819}{(H8802)} the children{H3206} in the valleys{H5158} under the clifts{H5585} of the rocks{H5553}?

Among the smooth{H2511} stones of the stream{H5158} is thy portion{H2506}; they, they are thy lot{H1486}: even to them hast thou poured{H8210}{(H8804)} a drink offering{H5262}, thou hast offered{H5927}{(H8689)} a meat offering{H4503}. Should I receive comfort{H5162}{(H8735)} in these?

Upon a lofty{H1364} and high{H5375}{(H8737)} mountain{H2022} hast thou set{H7760}{(H8804)} thy bed{H4904}: even thither wentest thou up{H5927}{(H8804)} to offer{H2076}{(H8800)} sacrifice{H2077}.

Behind{H310} the doors{H1817} also and the posts{H4201} hast thou set up{H7760}{(H8804)} thy remembrance{H2146}: for thou hast discovered{H1540}{(H8765)} thyself to another than me, and art gone up{H5927}{(H8799)}; thou hast enlarged{H7337}{(H8689)} thy bed{H4904}, and made{H3772}{(H8799)} thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst{H157}{(H8804)} their bed{H4904} where{H3027} thou sawest{H2372}{(H8804)} it.

And thou wentest{H7788}{(H8799)} to the king{H4428} with ointment{H8081}, and didst increase{H7235}{(H8686)} thy perfumes{H7547}, and didst send{H7971}{(H8762)} thy messengers{H6735} far off{H7350}, and didst debase{H8213}{(H8686)} thyself even unto hell{H7585}.

Thou art wearied{H3021}{(H8804)} in the greatness{H7230} of thy way{H1870}; yet saidst{H559}{(H8804)} thou not, There is no hope{H2976}{(H8737)}: thou hast found{H4672}{(H8804)} the life{H2416} of thine hand{H3027}; therefore thou wast not grieved{H2470}{(H8804)}.

And of whom hast thou been afraid{H1672}{(H8804)} or feared{H3372}{(H8799)}, that thou hast lied{H3576}{(H8762)}, and hast not remembered{H2142}{(H8804)} me, nor laid{H7760}{(H8804)} it to thy heart{H3820}? have not I held my peace{H2814}{(H8688)} even of old{H5769}, and thou fearest{H3372}{(H8799)} me not?

I will declare{H5046}{(H8686)} thy righteousness{H6666}, and thy works{H4639}; for they shall not profit{H3276}{(H8686)} thee.

When thou criest{H2199}{(H8800)}, let thy companies{H6899} deliver{H5337}{(H8686)} thee; but the wind{H7307} shall carry them all away{H5375}{(H8799)}; vanity{H1892} shall take{H3947}{(H8799)} them: but he that putteth his trust{H2620}{(H8802)} in me shall possess{H5157}{(H8799)} the land{H776}, and shall inherit{H3423}{(H8799)} my holy{H6944} mountain{H2022};

And shall say{H559}{(H8804)}, Cast ye up{H5549}{(H8798)}, cast ye up{H5549}{(H8798)}, prepare{H6437}{(H8761)} the way{H1870}, take up{H7311}{(H8685)} the stumblingblock{H4383} out of the way{H1870} of my people{H5971}.

For thus saith{H559}{(H8804)} the high{H7311}{(H8802)} and lofty One{H5375}{(H8737)} that inhabiteth{H7931}{(H8802)} eternity{H5703}, whose name{H8034} is Holy{H6918}; I dwell{H7931}{(H8799)} in the high{H4791} and holy{H6918} place, with him also that is of a contrite{H1793} and humble{H8217} spirit{H7307}, to revive{H2421}{(H8687)} the spirit{H7307} of the humble{H8217}, and to revive{H2421}{(H8687)} the heart{H3820} of the contrite ones{H1792}{(H8737)}.

For I will not contend{H7378}{(H8799)} for ever{H5769}, neither will I be always{H5331} wroth{H7107}{(H8799)}: for the spirit{H7307} should fail{H5848}{(H8799)} before{H6440} me, and the souls{H5397} which I have made{H6213}{(H8804)}.

For the iniquity{H5771} of his covetousness{H1215} was I wroth{H7107}{(H8804)}, and smote{H5221}{(H8686)} him: I hid{H5641}{(H8687)} me, and was wroth{H7107}{(H8799)}, and he went on{H3212}{(H8799)} frowardly{H7726} in the way{H1870} of his heart{H3820}.

I have seen{H7200}{(H8804)} his ways{H1870}, and will heal{H7495}{(H8799)} him: I will lead{H5148}{(H8686)} him also, and restore{H7999}{(H8762)} comforts{H5150} unto him and to his mourners{H57}.

I create{H1254}{(H8802)} the fruit{H5108} of the lips{H8193}; Peace{H7965}, peace{H7965} to him that is far off{H7350}, and to him that is near{H7138}, saith{H559}{(H8804)} the LORD{H3068}; and I will heal{H7495}{(H8804)} him.

But the wicked{H7563} are like the troubled{H1644}{(H8737)} sea{H3220}, when it cannot{H3201}{(H8799)} rest{H8252}{(H8687)}, whose waters{H4325} cast up{H1644}{(H8799)} mire{H7516} and dirt{H2916}.

There is no peace{H7965}, saith{H559}{(H8804)} my God{H430}, to the wicked{H7563}.
