1Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.
42Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that you be not struck down before your enemies.
4So he carved two tablets of stone like the first ones; and Moses rose early in the morning and went up to Mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and he took in his hand the two tablets of stone.
