Verse 1

And it happened, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

Now when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch.

Verse 5

And Simon answered and said to him, Master, we have worked all night and caught nothing; but at your word, I will let down the net.

And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

Verse 6

And when they had done this, they caught a great multitude of fish, and their net began to break.

And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

Verse 7

And they beckoned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they began to sink.

And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

Verse 8

When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.

And it happened, when he was in a certain city, a man full of leprosy saw Jesus and fell on his face, and begged him, saying, Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.

And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Verse 13

And he stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, I will; be clean. And immediately the leprosy left him.

And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.

Verse 14

And he charged him to tell no one, but go and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing, according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.

And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

Verse 15

But even more, the report about him went abroad, and great multitudes came together to hear and to be healed by him of their infirmities.

And when they could not find a way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.

And when he saw their faith, he said to him, Man, your sins are forgiven you.

And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?

But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered them, What do you reason in your hearts?

Which is easier, to say, Your sins are forgiven you; or to say, Rise up and walk?

Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?

But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins, (he said to the paralyzed man,) I say to you, Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.

But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.

Verse 25

And immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and went to his own house, glorifying God.

And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things today.

And after these things, he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax office, and he said to him, Follow me.

And Jesus answered them, Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

And they said to him, Why do the disciples of John fast often and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but yours eat and drink?

And he said to them, Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?

But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.

Verse 36

And he spoke also a parable to them: No one puts a piece of a new garment on an old one; otherwise, the new makes a tear, and the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old.

And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.

Verse 37

And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined.

And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.

Verse 38

But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved.

Verse 39

No one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, The old is better.

No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.
