19So Bathsheba visited King Solomon to speak to him on Adonijah’s behalf. The king got up to greet her, bowed to her, and then sat on his throne. He ordered a throne to be brought for the king’s mother, and she sat at his right hand.
20She said,“I would like to ask you for just one small favor. Please don’t refuse me.” He said,“Go ahead and ask, my mother, for I would not refuse you.”

20Now, my master, O king, all Israel is watching anxiously to see who is named to succeed my master the king on the throne.
21If a decision is not made, when my master the king is buried with his ancestors, my son Solomon and I will be considered state criminals.”
22Just then, while she was still speaking to the king, Nathan the prophet arrived.
23The king was told,“Nathan the prophet is here.” Nathan entered and bowed before the king with his face to the floor.
24Nathan said,“My master, O king, did you announce,‘Adonijah will be king after me; he will sit on my throne’?
8Afterward David got up and went out of the cave. He called out after Saul,“My lord, O king!” When Saul looked behind him, David kneeled down and bowed with his face to the ground.
35Then follow him up as he comes and sits on my throne. He will be king in my place; I have decreed that he will be ruler over Israel and Judah.”
36Benaiah son of Jehoiada responded to the king:“So be it! May the LORD God of my master the king confirm it!
37As the LORD is with my master the king, so may he be with Solomon, and may he make him an even greater king than my master King David!”

24So David comforted his wife Bathsheba. He came to her and went to bed with her. Later she gave birth to a son, and David named him Solomon. Now the LORD loved the child

45But King Solomon will be empowered and David’s dynasty will endure permanently before the LORD.

21But Ittai replied to the king,“As surely as the LORD lives and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king is, whether it means death or life, there I will be as well!”
3Then the king turned around and pronounced a blessing over the whole Israelite assembly as they stood there.
8Solomon replied to God,“You demonstrated great loyalty to my father David and have made me king in his place.
9Now, LORD God, may your promise to my father David be realized, for you have made me king over a great nation as numerous as the dust of the earth.
3So David sent someone to inquire about the woman. The messenger said,“Isn’t this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?”
23So now, O LORD, may the promise you made about your servant and his family become a permanent reality! Do as you promised,
