2and he delivers them over to you and you attack them, you must utterly annihilate them. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy!
7I will take you to myself for a people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from your enslavement to the Egyptians.

15you must select without fail a king whom the LORD your God chooses. From among your fellow citizens you must appoint a king– you may not designate a foreigner who is not one of your fellow Israelites.
22Then you will again be my people and I will be your God.
35You have been taught that the LORD alone is God– there is no other besides him.
