15For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet [have ye] not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
14But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned [them];
15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
20But ye have not so learned Christ;
21If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
6From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
7Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
8For if these things be in you, and abound, they make [you that ye shall] neither [be] barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
1¶ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let [them] slip.
7Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
3Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
17Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know [these things] before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
20For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
1¶ But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
15Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
11And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
12That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
12And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
8But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
7¶ But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:
14As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
