Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut.

Da sa Herren til meg: Denne porten skal være lukket, den skal ikke åpnes, og ingen mann skal gå inn gjennom den, for Herren, Israels Gud, har gått inn gjennom den, derfor skal den være lukket.

Then said the LORD unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the LORD, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut.

Det er for fyrsten; fyrsten skal sitte der for å spise brød for Herrens åsyn; han skal gå inn gjennom portens forhall og gå ut samme vei.

It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before the LORD; he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.

Så førte han meg veien til nordporten foran huset: og jeg så, og se, Herrens herlighet fylte Herrens hus, og jeg falt på mitt ansikt.

Then brought he me the way of the north gate before the house: and I looked, and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD: and I fell upon my face.

Og Herren sa til meg: Menneskesønn, merk deg nøye, og se med dine øyne og hør med dine ører alt det jeg sier til deg om alle forordningene i Herrens hus, og alle lovene der; og merk deg nøye inngangen til huset og alle utgangene fra helligdommen.

And the LORD said unto me, Son of man, mark well, and behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears all that I say unto thee concerning all the ordinances of the house of the LORD, and all the laws thereof; and mark well the entering in of the house, with every going forth of the sanctuary.

Og du skal si til de opprørske, til Israels hus: Så sier Herren Gud: Dere, Israels hus, la det være nok med alle deres avskyeligheter,

And thou shalt say to the rebellious, even to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O ye house of Israel, let it suffice you of all your abominations,

på det at dere har ført fremmede inn i min helligdom, uomskåret i hjertet og uomskåret på kroppen, for å være i min helligdom og gjøre den uren, selv mitt hus, når dere bringer mitt brød, fettet og blodet, og de har brutt min pakt med alle deres avskyeligheter.

In that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it, even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant because of all your abominations.

Og dere har ikke holdt vakt over mine hellige ting, men dere har satt inn folk som voktere over min helligdom for dere selv.

And ye have not kept the charge of mine holy things: but ye have set keepers of my charge in my sanctuary for yourselves.

Så sier Herren Gud: Ingen fremmed, uomskåret i hjertet, eller uomskåret på kroppen, skal gå inn i min helligdom, av noen fremmed som er blant Israels barn.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel.

Og levittene som var faret bort fra meg, da Israel gikk bort, som gikk bort fra meg etter sine avguder, de skal bære deres misgjerning.

And the Levites that are gone away far from me, when Israel went astray, which went astray away from me after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity.

Likevel skal de tjene i min helligdom, ha oppsyn ved portene til huset, og tjene i huset: de skal ofre brennofferet og ofret for folket, og de skal stå fremfor dem for å tjene dem.

Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having charge at the gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them.

Fordi de tjente dem foran deres avguder og fikk Israels hus til å falle i synd; derfor har jeg løftet min hånd mot dem, sier Herren Gud, og de skal bære deres misgjerning.

Because they ministered unto them before their idols, and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity; therefore have I lifted up mine hand against them, saith the Lord GOD, and they shall bear their iniquity.

Og de skal ikke komme nær til meg for å virke som prest for meg, eller komme nær til noen av mine hellige ting, i det helligste sted, men de skal bære sin skam og sine avskyeligheter som de har begått.

And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, in the most holy place: but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed.

Men jeg vil gjøre dem til voktere av huset, for alle dets tjenester, og for alt som skal gjøres i det.

But I will make them keepers of the charge of the house, for all the service thereof, and for all that shall be done therein.

Men prestene, levittene, av Sadoks sønner, som holdt vakt over min helligdom da Israels barn gikk bort fra meg, skal komme nær til meg for å tjene meg, og de skal stå foran meg for å bringe meg fettet og blodet, sier Herren Gud.

But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord GOD:

De skal gå inn i min helligdom, og de skal komme nær mitt bord for å tjene meg, og de skal holde min vakt.

They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge.

Og det skal skje, når de går inn ved portene til indre forgården, skal de ha lin klær på; ingen ull skal komme på dem mens de tjener i portene til indre forgården, og inne.

And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, whiles they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within.

De skal ha linluer på hodet, og linbukser på hoftene; de skal ikke binde seg med noe som gjør at de svetter.

They shall have linen bonnets upon their heads, and shall have linen breeches upon their loins; they shall not gird themselves with any thing that causeth sweat.

Og når de går ut til den ytterste forgården, til folket, skal de ta av de klærne de har gjort tjeneste i, og la dem ligge i de hellige kamrene, og de skal ta på seg andre klær; og de skal ikke hellige folket med sine klær.

And when they go forth into the utter court, even into the utter court to the people, they shall put off their garments wherein they ministered, and lay them in the holy chambers, and they shall put on other garments; and they shall not sanctify the people with their garments.

De skal heller ikke barbere hodet, eller la håret vokse langt; de skal bare klippe håret jevnlig.

Neither shall they shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow long; they shall only poll their heads.

Ingen prest skal drikke vin når de går inn i den indre forgården.

Neither shall any priest drink wine, when they enter into the inner court.

De skal heller ikke ta en enke eller en fraskilt kvinne til hustru: men de skal ta jomfruer av Israels hus, eller en enke som hadde en prest før.

Neither shall they take for their wives a widow, nor her that is put away: but they shall take maidens of the seed of the house of Israel, or a widow that had a priest before.

Og de skal lære mitt folk forskjellen mellom hellig og vanhellig, og lære dem å skjelne mellom urent og rent.

And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

Og i tvistemål skal de stå til doms; og de skal dømme det etter mine lover: og de skal holde mine forskrifter og mine lover i alle mine høytider; og de skal hellige mine sabbater.

And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths.

Og de skal ikke nærme seg noen død person for å gjøre seg urene; men for far, eller for mor, eller for sønn, eller for datter, for bror, eller for søster som ikke har hatt en mann, kan de gjøre seg urene.

And they shall come at no dead person to defile themselves: but for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister that hath had no husband, they may defile themselves.

Og etter at han er renset, skal de regne for ham syv dager.

And after he is cleansed, they shall reckon unto him seven days.

Og på den dagen han går inn i helligdommen, til den indre forgården, for å tjene i helligdommen, skal han bære frem sitt syndoffer, sier Herren Gud.

And in the day that he goeth into the sanctuary, unto the inner court, to minister in the sanctuary, he shall offer his sin offering, saith the Lord GOD.

Og det skal være for dem som en arv: Jeg er deres arv: og dere skal ikke gi dem noen eiendom i Israel: jeg er deres eiendom.

And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession.

De skal spise matofferet, syndofferet, og skyldofferet; og hver vigslet ting i Israel skal være deres.

They shall eat the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; and every dedicated thing in Israel shall be theirs.

Og det første av alle de førstegrødene av alle ting, og alle offergaver av alle slag, skal være prestens: dere skal også gi presten det første av deigen deres, for at han skal få velsignelsen til å hvile i deres hus.

And the first of all the firstfruits of all things, and every oblation of all, of every sort of your oblations, shall be the priest's: ye shall also give unto the priest the first of your dough, that he may cause the blessing to rest in thine house.

Prestene skal ikke spise noe som dør av seg selv, eller er revet i stykker, enten det er av fugl eller fe.

The priests shall not eat of any thing that is dead of itself, or torn, whether it be fowl or beast.
