At that time{H6256} the LORD{H3068} separated{H914}{(H8689)} the tribe{H7626} of Levi{H3878}, to bear{H5375}{(H8800)} the ark{H727} of the covenant{H1285} of the LORD{H3068}, to stand{H5975}{(H8800)} before{H6440} the LORD{H3068} to minister{H8334}{(H8763)} unto him, and to bless{H1288}{(H8763)} in his name{H8034}, unto this day{H3117}.

instead of such as open{H6363} every womb{H7358}, even instead of the firstborn{H1060} of all the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478}, have I taken{H3947}{(H8804)} them unto me. 17 For all the firstborn{H1060} of the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478} are mine, both man{H120} and beast{H929}: on the day{H3117} that I smote{H5221}{(H8687)} every firstborn{H1060} in the land{H776} of Egypt{H4714} I sanctified{H6942}{(H8689)} them for myself. 18 And I have taken{H3947}{(H8799)} the Levites{H3881} for all the firstborn{H1060} of the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478}. 19 And I have given{H5414}{(H8799)} the Levites{H3881} as a gift{H5414}{(H8803)} to Aaron{H175} and to his sons{H1121} from among{H8432} the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478}, to do{H5647}{(H8800)} the service{H5656} of the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478} in the tabernacle{H168} of the congregation{H4150}, and to make an atonement{H3722}{(H8763)} for the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478}: that there be no plague{H5063} among the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478}, when the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478} come nigh{H5066}{(H8800)} unto the sanctuary{H6944}. 20 And Moses{H4872}, and Aaron{H175}, and all the congregation{H5712} of the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478}, did{H6213}{(H8799)} to the Levites{H3881} according unto all that the LORD{H3068} commanded{H6680}{(H8765)} Moses{H4872} concerning the Levites{H3881}, so did{H6213}{(H8804)} the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478} unto them. 21 And the Levites{H3881} were purified{H2398}{(H8691)}, and they washed{H3526}{(H8762)} their clothes{H899}; and Aaron{H175} offered{H5130}{(H8686)} them as an offering{H8573} before{H6440} the LORD{H3068}; and Aaron{H175} made an atonement{H3722}{(H8762)} for them to cleanse{H2891}{(H8763)} them. 22 And after{H310} that went{H935}{(H8804)} the Levites{H3881} in to do{H5647}{(H8800)} their service{H5656} in the tabernacle{H168} of the congregation{H4150} before{H6440} Aaron{H175}, and before{H6440} his sons{H1121}: as the LORD{H3068} had commanded{H6680}{(H8765)} Moses{H4872} concerning the Levites{H3881}, so did{H6213}{(H8804)} they unto them. 23 And the LORD{H3068} spake{H1696}{(H8762)} unto Moses{H4872}, saying{H559}{(H8800)}, 24 This is it that belongeth unto the Levites{H3881}: from twenty{H6242} and five{H2568} years{H8141} old{H1121} and upward{H4605} they shall go in{H935}{(H8799)} to wait{H6633}{(H8800)}{H6635} upon the service{H5656} of the tabernacle{H168} of the congregation{H4150}: 25 And from the age{H1121} of fifty{H2572} years{H8141} they shall cease{H7725}{(H8799)} waiting{H6635} upon the service{H5656} thereof, and shall serve{H5647}{(H8799)} no more: 26 But shall minister{H8334}{(H8765)} with their brethren{H251} in the tabernacle{H168} of the congregation{H4150}, to keep{H8104}{(H8800)} the charge{H4931}, and shall do{H5647}{(H8799)} no service{H5656}. Num 18:1-9 : 1 And the LORD{H3068} said{H559}{(H8799)} unto Aaron{H175}, Thou and thy sons{H1121} and thy father's{H1} house{H1004} with thee shall bear{H5375}{(H8799)} the iniquity{H5771} of the sanctuary{H4720}: and thou and thy sons{H1121} with thee shall bear{H5375}{(H8799)} the iniquity{H5771} of your priesthood{H3550}. 2 And thy brethren{H251} also of the tribe{H4294} of Levi{H3878}, the tribe{H7626} of thy father{H1}, bring{H7126}{(H8685)} thou with thee, that they may be joined{H3867}{(H8735)} unto thee, and minister{H8334}{(H8762)} unto thee: but thou and thy sons{H1121} with thee shall minister before{H6440} the tabernacle{H168} of witness{H5715}. 3 And they shall keep{H8104}{(H8804)} thy charge{H4931}, and the charge{H4931} of all the tabernacle{H168}: only they shall not come nigh{H7126}{(H8799)} the vessels{H3627} of the sanctuary{H6944} and the altar{H4196}, that neither they, nor ye also, die{H4191}{(H8799)}. 4 And they shall be joined{H3867}{(H8738)} unto thee, and keep{H8104}{(H8804)} the charge{H4931} of the tabernacle{H168} of the congregation{H4150}, for all the service{H5656} of the tabernacle{H168}: and a stranger{H2114}{(H8801)} shall not come nigh{H7126}{(H8799)} unto you. 5 And ye shall keep{H8104}{(H8804)} the charge{H4931} of the sanctuary{H6944}, and the charge{H4931} of the altar{H4196}: that there be no wrath{H7110} any more upon the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478}. 6 And I, behold, I have taken{H3947}{(H8804)} your brethren{H251} the Levites{H3881} from among{H8432} the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478}: to you they are given{H5414}{(H8803)} as a gift{H4979} for the LORD{H3068}, to do{H5647}{(H8800)} the service{H5656} of the tabernacle{H168} of the congregation{H4150}. 7 Therefore thou and thy sons{H1121} with thee shall keep{H8104}{(H8799)} your priest's office{H3550} for every thing{H1697} of the altar{H4196}, and within{H1004} the vail{H6532}; and ye shall serve{H5647}{(H8804)}: I have given{H5414}{(H8799)} your priest's office{H3550} unto you as a service{H5656} of gift{H4979}: and the stranger{H2114}{(H8801)} that cometh nigh{H7131} shall be put to death{H4191}{(H8714)}. 8 And the LORD{H3068} spake{H1696}{(H8762)} unto Aaron{H175}, Behold, I also have given{H5414}{(H8804)} thee the charge{H4931} of mine heave offerings{H8641} of all the hallowed things{H6944} of the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478}; unto thee have I given{H5414}{(H8804)} them by reason of the anointing{H4888}, and to thy sons{H1121}, by an ordinance{H2706} for ever{H5769}. 9 This shall be thine of the most{H6944} holy things{H6944}, reserved from the fire{H784}: every oblation{H7133} of theirs, every meat offering{H4503} of theirs, and every sin offering{H2403} of theirs, and every trespass offering{H817} of theirs, which they shall render{H7725}{(H8686)} unto me, shall be most{H6944} holy{H6944} for thee and for thy sons{H1121}. 10 In the most{H6944} holy{H6944} place shalt thou eat{H398}{(H8799)} it; every male{H2145} shall eat{H398}{(H8799)} it: it shall be holy{H6944} unto thee. 11 And this is thine; the heave offering{H8641} of their gift{H4976}, with all the wave offerings{H8573} of the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478}: I have given{H5414}{(H8804)} them unto thee, and to thy sons{H1121} and to thy daughters{H1323} with thee, by a statute{H2706} for ever{H5769}: every one that is clean{H2889} in thy house{H1004} shall eat{H398}{(H8799)} of it. 12 All the best{H2459} of the oil{H3323}, and all the best{H2459} of the wine{H8492}, and of the wheat{H1715}, the firstfruits{H7225} of them which they shall offer{H5414}{(H8799)} unto the LORD{H3068}, them have I given{H5414}{(H8804)} thee. 13 And whatsoever is first ripe{H1061} in the land{H776}, which they shall bring{H935}{(H8686)} unto the LORD{H3068}, shall be thine; every one that is clean{H2889} in thine house{H1004} shall eat{H398}{(H8799)} of it. 14 Every thing devoted{H2764} in Israel{H3478} shall be thine. 15 Every thing that openeth{H6363} the matrix{H7358} in all flesh{H1320}, which they bring{H7126}{(H8686)} unto the LORD{H3068}, whether it be of men{H120} or beasts{H929}, shall be thine: nevertheless the firstborn{H1060} of man{H120} shalt thou surely{H6299}{(H8800)} redeem{H6299}{(H8799)}, and the firstling{H1060} of unclean{H2931} beasts{H929} shalt thou redeem{H6299}{(H8799)}. 16 And those that are to be redeemed{H6299}{(H8803)} from a month{H2320} old{H1121} shalt thou redeem{H6299}{(H8799)}, according to thine estimation{H6187}, for the money{H3701} of five{H2568} shekels{H8255}, after the shekel{H8255} of the sanctuary{H6944}, which is twenty{H6242} gerahs{H1626}. 17 But the firstling{H1060} of a cow{H7794}, or the firstling{H1060} of a sheep{H3775}, or the firstling{H1060} of a goat{H5795}, thou shalt not redeem{H6299}{(H8799)}; and ye shall give{H5414}{(H8804)} thereof the LORD'S{H3068} heave offering{H8641} to Aaron{H175} the priest{H3548}. 29 Out of all your gifts{H4979} ye shall offer{H7311}{(H8686)} every heave offering{H8641} of the LORD{H3068}, of all the best{H2459} thereof, even the hallowed part{H4720} thereof out of it. 30 Therefore thou shalt say{H559}{(H8804)} unto them, When ye have heaved{H7311}{(H8687)} the best{H2459} thereof from it, then it shall be counted{H2803}{(H8738)} unto the Levites{H3881} as the increase{H8393} of the threshingfloor{H1637}, and as the increase{H8393} of the winepress{H3342}. 31 And ye shall eat{H398}{(H8804)} it in every place{H4725}, ye and your households{H1004}: for it is your reward{H7939} for{H2500} your service{H5656} in the tabernacle{H168} of the congregation{H4150}. 32 And ye shall bear{H5375}{(H8799)} no sin{H2399} by reason of it, when ye have heaved{H7311}{(H8687)} from it the best{H2459} of it: neither shall ye pollute{H2490}{(H8762)} the holy things{H6944} of the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478}, lest ye die{H4191}{(H8799)}.
Deut 17:12 : 12 And the man{H376} that will do{H6213}{(H8799)} presumptuously{H2087}, and will not hearken{H8085}{(H8800)} unto the priest{H3548} that standeth{H5975}{(H8802)} to minister{H8334}{(H8763)} there before the LORD{H3068} thy God{H430}, or unto the judge{H8199}{(H8802)}, even that man{H376} shall die{H4191}{(H8804)}: and thou shalt put away{H1197}{(H8765)} the evil{H7451} from Israel{H3478}.

and Aaron{H175} and his sons{H1121} shall put{H5564}{(H8804)} their hands{H3027} upon the head{H7218} of the ram{H352}. 16 And thou shalt slay{H7819}{(H8804)} the ram{H352}, and thou shalt take{H3947}{(H8804)} his blood{H1818}, and sprinkle{H2236}{(H8804)} it round about{H5439} upon the altar{H4196}. 17 And thou shalt cut{H5408}{(H8762)} the ram{H352} in pieces{H5409}, and wash{H7364}{(H8804)} the inwards{H7130} of him, and his legs{H3767}, and put{H5414}{(H8804)} them unto his pieces{H5409}, and unto his head{H7218}. 18 And thou shalt burn{H6999}{(H8689)} the whole ram{H352} upon the altar{H4196}: it is a burnt offering{H5930} unto the LORD{H3068}: it is a sweet{H5207} savour{H7381}, an offering made by fire{H801} unto the LORD{H3068}. 19 And thou shalt take{H3947}{(H8804)} the other{H8145} ram{H352}; and shalt wave{H5130}{(H8689)} them for a wave offering{H8573} before{H6440} the LORD{H3068}. 25 And thou shalt receive{H3947}{(H8804)} them of their hands{H3027}, and burn{H6999}{(H8689)} them upon the altar{H4196} for a burnt offering{H5930}, for a sweet{H5207} savour{H7381} before{H6440} the LORD{H3068}: it is an offering made by fire{H801} unto the LORD{H3068}. 26 And thou shalt take{H3947}{(H8804)} the breast{H2373} of the ram{H352} of Aaron's{H175} consecration{H4394}, and wave{H5130}{(H8689)} it for a wave offering{H8573} before{H6440} the LORD{H3068}: and it shall be thy part{H4490}. 27 And thou shalt sanctify{H6942}{(H8765)} the breast{H2373} of the wave offering{H8573}, and the shoulder{H7785} of the heave offering{H8641}, which is waved{H5130}{(H8717)}, and which is heaved up{H7311}{(H8717)}, of the ram{H352} of the consecration{H4394}, even of that which{H834} is for Aaron{H175}, and of that which is for his sons{H1121}: 28 And it shall be Aaron's{H175} and his sons{H1121}' by a statute{H2706} for ever{H5769} from the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478}: for it is an heave offering{H8641}: and it shall be an heave offering{H8641} from the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478} of the sacrifice{H2077} of their peace offerings{H8002}, even their heave offering{H8641} unto the LORD{H3068}. 29 And the holy{H6944} garments{H899} of Aaron{H175} shall be his sons{H1121}' after{H310} him, to be anointed{H4888} therein, and to be consecrated{H4390}{(H8763)}{H3027} in them. 30 And that son{H1121} that is priest{H3548} in his stead shall put{H3847}{(H8799)} them on seven{H7651} days{H3117}, when he cometh{H935}{(H8799)} into the tabernacle{H168} of the congregation{H4150} to minister{H8334}{(H8763)} in the holy{H6944} place. 31 And thou shalt take{H3947}{(H8799)} the ram{H352} of the consecration{H4394}, and seethe{H1310}{(H8765)} his flesh{H1320} in the holy{H6918} place{H4725}. 32 And Aaron{H175} and his sons{H1121} shall eat{H398}{(H8804)} the flesh{H1320} of the ram{H352}, and the bread{H3899} that is in the basket{H5536}, by the door{H6607} of the tabernacle{H168} of the congregation{H4150}. 33 And they shall eat{H398}{(H8804)} those things wherewith the atonement was made{H3722}{(H8795)}, to consecrate{H4390}{(H8763)}{H3027} and to sanctify{H6942}{(H8763)} them: but a stranger{H2114}{(H8801)} shall not eat{H398}{(H8799)} thereof, because they are holy{H6944}. 34 And if ought of the flesh{H1320} of the consecrations{H4394}, or of the bread{H3899}, remain{H3498}{(H8735)} unto the morning{H1242}, then thou shalt burn{H8313}{(H8804)} the remainder{H3498}{(H8737)} with fire{H784}: it shall not be eaten{H398}{(H8735)}, because it is holy{H6944}. 35 And thus shalt thou do{H6213}{(H8804)} unto Aaron{H175}, and to his sons{H1121}, according to all things which I have commanded{H6680}{(H8765)} thee: seven{H7651} days{H3117} shalt thou consecrate{H4390}{(H8762)}{H3027} them. 36 And thou shalt offer{H6213}{(H8799)} every day{H3117} a bullock{H6499} for a sin offering{H2403} for atonement{H3725}: and thou shalt cleanse{H2398}{(H8765)} the altar{H4196}, when thou hast made an atonement{H3722}{(H8763)} for it, and thou shalt anoint{H4886}{(H8804)} it, to sanctify{H6942}{(H8763)} it. 37 Seven{H7651} days{H3117} thou shalt make an atonement{H3722}{(H8762)} for the altar{H4196}, and sanctify{H6942}{(H8765)} it; and it shall be an altar{H4196} most holy{H6944}{H6944}: whatsoever toucheth{H5060}{(H8802)} the altar{H4196} shall be holy{H6942}{(H8799)}.
Lev 8:9 : 9 And he put{H7760}{(H8799)} the mitre{H4701} upon his head{H7218}; also upon the mitre{H4701}, even upon his forefront{H6440}{H4136}, did he put{H7760}{(H8799)} the golden{H2091} plate{H6731}, the holy{H6944} crown{H5145}; as the LORD{H3068} commanded{H6680}{(H8765)} Moses{H4872}.
1 Kgs 8:3-4 : 3 And all the elders{H2205} of Israel{H3478} came{H935}{(H8799)}, and the priests{H3548} took up{H5375}{(H8799)} the ark{H727}. 4 And they brought up{H5927}{(H8686)} the ark{H727} of the LORD{H3068}, and the tabernacle{H168} of the congregation{H4150}, and all the holy{H6944} vessels{H3627} that were in the tabernacle{H168}, even those did the priests{H3548} and the Levites{H3881} bring up{H5927}{(H8686)}.
1 Kgs 8:6 : 6 And the priests{H3548} brought in{H935}{(H8686)} the ark{H727} of the covenant{H1285} of the LORD{H3068} unto his place{H4725}, into the oracle{H1687} of the house{H1004}, to the most{H6944} holy{H6944} place, even under the wings{H3671} of the cherubims{H3742}.
1 Chr 15:12-15 : 12 And said{H559}{(H8799)} unto them, Ye are the chief{H7218} of the fathers{H1} of the Levites{H3881}: sanctify{H6942}{(H8690)} yourselves, both ye and your brethren{H251}, that ye may bring up{H5927}{(H8689)} the ark{H727} of the LORD{H3068} God{H430} of Israel{H3478} unto the place that I have prepared{H3559}{(H8689)} for it. 13 For because ye did it not at the first{H7223}, the LORD{H3068} our God{H430} made a breach{H6555}{(H8804)} upon us, for that we sought{H1875}{(H8804)} him not after the due order{H4941}. 14 So the priests{H3548} and the Levites{H3881} sanctified{H6942}{(H8691)} themselves to bring up{H5927}{(H8687)} the ark{H727} of the LORD{H3068} God{H430} of Israel{H3478}. 15 And the children{H1121} of the Levites{H3881} bare{H5375}{(H8799)} the ark{H727} of God{H430} upon their shoulders{H3802} with the staves{H4133} thereon, as Moses{H4872} commanded{H6680}{(H8765)} according to the word{H1697} of the LORD{H3068}.
1 Chr 15:26 : 26 And it came to pass, when God{H430} helped{H5826}{(H8800)} the Levites{H3881} that bare{H5375}{(H8802)} the ark{H727} of the covenant{H1285} of the LORD{H3068}, that they offered{H2076}{(H8799)} seven{H7651} bullocks{H6499} and seven{H7651} rams{H352}.
1 Chr 23:26 : 26 And also unto the Levites{H3881}; they shall no more carry{H5375}{(H8800)} the tabernacle{H4908}, nor any vessels{H3627} of it for the service{H5656} thereof.

2 Chr 29:11 : 11 My sons{H1121}, be not now negligent{H7952}{(H8735)}: for the LORD{H3068} hath chosen{H977}{(H8804)} you to stand{H5975}{(H8800)} before{H6440} him, to serve{H8334}{(H8763)} him, and that ye should minister{H8334}{(H8764)} unto him, and burn incense{H6999}{(H8688)}.
