And they said{H559}{(H8799)}, Of Haran{H2771} are we. 5 And he said{H559}{(H8799)} unto them, Know{H3045}{(H8804)} ye Laban{H3837} the son{H1121} of Nahor{H5152}? And they said{H559}{(H8799)}, We know{H3045}{(H8804)} him. 6 And he said{H559}{(H8799)} unto them, Is he well{H7965}? And they said{H559}{(H8799)}, He is well{H7965}: and, behold, Rachel{H7354} his daughter{H1323} cometh{H935}{(H8802)} with the sheep{H6629}. 7 And he said{H559}{(H8799)}, Lo{H2005}, it is yet high{H1419} day{H3117}, neither is it time{H6256} that the cattle{H4735} should be gathered together{H622}{(H8736)}: water{H8248}{(H8685)} ye the sheep{H6629}, and go{H3212}{(H8798)} and feed{H7462}{(H8798)} them. 8 And they said{H559}{(H8799)}, We cannot{H3201}{(H8799)}, until all the flocks{H5739} be gathered together{H622}{(H8735)}, and till they roll{H1556}{(H8804)} the stone{H68} from the well's{H875} mouth{H6310}; then we water{H8248}{(H8689)} the sheep{H6629}. 9 And while he yet{H5750} spake{H1696}{(H8764)} with them, Rachel{H7354} came{H935}{(H8804)} with her father's{H1} sheep{H6629}: for she kept them{H7462}{(H8802)}. 10 And it came to pass, when Jacob{H3290} saw{H7200}{(H8804)} Rachel{H7354} the daughter{H1323} of Laban{H3837} his mother's{H517} brother{H251}, and the sheep{H6629} of Laban{H3837} his mother's{H517} brother{H251}, that Jacob{H3290} went near{H5066}{(H8799)}, and rolled{H1556}{(H8686)} the stone{H68} from the well's{H875} mouth{H6310}, and watered{H8248}{(H8686)} the flock{H6629} of Laban{H3837} his mother's{H517} brother{H251}. 11 And Jacob{H3290} kissed{H5401}{(H8799)} Rachel{H7354}, and lifted up{H5375}{(H8799)} his voice{H6963}, and wept{H1058}{(H8799)}. 12 And Jacob{H3290} told{H5046}{(H8686)} Rachel{H7354} that he was her father's{H1} brother{H251}, and that he was Rebekah's{H7259} son{H1121}: and she ran{H7323}{(H8799)} and told{H5046}{(H8686)} her father{H1}. 13 And it came to pass, when Laban{H3837} heard{H8085}{(H8800)} the tidings{H8088} of Jacob{H3290} his sister's{H269} son{H1121}, that he ran{H7323}{(H8799)} to meet{H7125}{(H8800)} him, and embraced{H2263}{(H8762)} him, and kissed{H5401}{(H8762)} him, and brought{H935}{(H8686)} him to his house{H1004}. And he told{H5608}{(H8762)} Laban{H3837} all these things{H1697}. 14 And Laban{H3837} said{H559}{(H8799)} to him, Surely{H389} thou art my bone{H6106} and my flesh{H1320}. And he abode{H3427}{(H8799)} with him the space{H3117} of a month{H2320}. 15 And Laban{H3837} said{H559}{(H8799)} unto Jacob{H3290}, Because thou art my brother{H251}, shouldest thou therefore serve{H5647}{(H8804)} me for nought{H2600}? tell{H5046}{(H8685)} me, what shall thy wages{H4909} be? 16 And Laban{H3837} had two{H8147} daughters{H1323}: the name{H8034} of the elder{H1419} was Leah{H3812}, and the name{H8034} of the younger{H6996} was Rachel{H7354}. 17 Leah{H3812} was tender{H7390} eyed{H5869}; but Rachel{H7354} was beautiful{H3303}{H8389} and well{H3303} favoured{H4758}. 18 And Jacob{H3290} loved{H157}{(H8799)} Rachel{H7354}; and said{H559}{(H8799)}, I will serve{H5647}{(H8799)} thee seven{H7651} years{H8141} for Rachel{H7354} thy younger{H6996} daughter{H1323}. 19 And Laban{H3837} said{H559}{(H8799)}, It is better{H2896} that I give{H5414}{(H8800)} her to thee, than that I should give{H5414}{(H8800)} her to another{H312} man{H376}: abide{H3427}{(H8798)} with me. 20 And Jacob{H3290} served{H5647}{(H8799)} seven{H7651} years{H8141} for Rachel{H7354}; and they seemed{H5869} unto him but a few{H259} days{H3117}, for the love he had{H160} to her. 21 And Jacob{H3290} said{H559}{(H8799)} unto Laban{H3837}, Give{H3051}{(H8798)} me my wife{H802}, for my days{H3117} are fulfilled{H4390}{(H8804)}, that I may go in{H935}{(H8799)} unto her. 22 And Laban{H3837} gathered together{H622}{(H8799)} all the men{H582} of the place{H4725}, and made{H6213}{(H8799)} a feast{H4960}. 23 And it came to pass in the evening{H6153}, that he took{H3947}{(H8799)} Leah{H3812} his daughter{H1323}, and brought{H935}{(H8686)} her to him; and he went in{H935}{(H8799)} unto her. 24 And Laban{H3837} gave{H5414}{(H8799)} unto his daughter{H1323} Leah{H3812} Zilpah{H2153} his maid{H8198} for an handmaid{H8198}. 25 And it came to pass, that in the morning{H1242}, behold, it was Leah{H3812}: and he said{H559}{(H8799)} to Laban{H3837}, What is this thou hast done{H6213}{(H8804)} unto me? did not I serve{H5647}{(H8804)} with thee for Rachel{H7354}? wherefore then hast thou beguiled{H7411}{(H8765)} me? 26 And Laban{H3837} said{H559}{(H8799)}, It must not be so done{H6213}{(H8735)} in our country{H4725}, to give{H5414}{(H8800)} the younger{H6810} before{H6440} the firstborn{H1067}. 27 Fulfil{H4390}{(H8761)} her{H2063} week{H7620}, and we will give{H5414}{(H8799)} thee this also for the service{H5656} which thou shalt serve{H5647}{(H8799)} with me yet seven{H7651} other{H312} years{H8141}. 28 And Jacob{H3290} did{H6213}{(H8799)} so, and fulfilled{H4390}{(H8762)} her week{H7620}: and he gave{H5414}{(H8799)} him Rachel{H7354} his daughter{H1323} to wife{H802} also. 29 And Laban{H3837} gave{H5414}{(H8799)} to Rachel{H7354} his daughter{H1323} Bilhah{H1090} his handmaid{H8198} to be her maid{H8198}. 30 And he went in{H935}{(H8799)} also unto Rachel{H7354}, and he loved{H157}{(H8799)} also Rachel{H7354} more than Leah{H3812}, and served{H5647}{(H8799)} with him yet seven{H7651} other{H312} years{H8141}.
• Gen 29:32 : 32 And Leah{H3812} conceived{H2029}{(H8799)}, and bare{H3205}{(H8799)} a son{H1121}, and she called{H7121}{(H8799)} his name{H8034} Reuben{H7205}: for{H3588} she said{H559}{(H8804)}, Surely{H3588} the LORD{H3068} hath looked{H7200}{(H8804)} upon my affliction{H6040}; now therefore{H3588} my husband{H376} will love{H157}{(H8799)} me.
• Gen 35:22-23 : 22 And it came to pass, when Israel{H3478} dwelt{H7931}{(H8800)} in that land{H776}, that Reuben{H7205} went{H3212}{(H8799)} and lay{H7901}{(H8799)} with Bilhah{H1090} his father's{H1} concubine{H6370}: and Israel{H3478} heard{H8085}{(H8799)} it. Now the sons{H1121} of Jacob{H3290} were twelve{H8147}{H6240}: 23 The sons{H1121} of Leah{H3812}; Reuben{H7205}, Jacob's{H3290} firstborn{H1060}, and Simeon{H8095}, and Levi{H3878}, and Judah{H3063}, and Issachar{H3485}, and Zebulun{H2074}:
• Gen 49:1-9 : 1 And Jacob{H3290} called{H7121}{(H8799)} unto his sons{H1121}, and said{H559}{(H8799)}, Gather yourselves together{H622}{(H8734)}, that I may tell{H5046}{(H8686)} you that which shall befall{H7122}{(H8799)} you in the last{H319} days{H3117}. 2 Gather yourselves together{H6908}{(H8734)}, and hear{H8085}{(H8798)}, ye sons{H1121} of Jacob{H3290}; and hearken{H8085}{(H8798)} unto Israel{H3478} your father{H1}. 3 Reuben{H7205}, thou art my firstborn{H1060}, my might{H3581}, and the beginning{H7225} of my strength{H202}, the excellency{H3499} of dignity{H7613}, and the excellency{H3499} of power{H5794}: 4 Unstable{H6349} as water{H4325}, thou shalt not excel{H3498}{(H8686)}; because thou wentest up{H5927}{(H8804)} to thy father's{H1} bed{H4904}; then defiledst thou{H2490}{(H8765)} it: he went up{H5927}{(H8804)} to my couch{H3326}. 5 Simeon{H8095} and Levi{H3878} are brethren{H251}; instruments{H3627} of cruelty{H2555} are in their habitations{H4380}. 6 O my soul{H5315}, come{H935}{(H8799)} not thou into their secret{H5475}; unto their assembly{H6951}, mine honour{H3519}, be not thou united{H3161}{(H8799)}: for in their anger{H639} they slew{H2026}{(H8804)} a man{H376}, and in their selfwill{H7522} they digged down{H6131}{(H8765)} a wall{H7794}. 7 Cursed{H779}{(H8803)} be their anger{H639}, for it was fierce{H5794}; and their wrath{H5678}, for it was cruel{H7185}{(H8804)}: I will divide{H2505}{(H8762)} them in Jacob{H3290}, and scatter{H6327}{(H8686)} them in Israel{H3478}. 8 Judah{H3063}, thou art he whom thy brethren{H251} shall praise{H3034}{(H8686)}: thy hand{H3027} shall be in the neck{H6203} of thine enemies{H341}{(H8802)}; thy father's{H1} children{H1121} shall bow down{H7812}{(H8691)} before thee. 9 Judah{H3063} is a lion's{H738} whelp{H1482}: from the prey{H2964}, my son{H1121}, thou art gone up{H5927}{(H8804)}: he stooped down{H3766}{(H8804)}, he couched{H7257}{(H8804)} as a lion{H738}, and as an old lion{H3833}; who shall rouse him up{H6965}{(H8686)}? 10 The sceptre{H7626} shall not depart{H5493}{(H8799)} from Judah{H3063}, nor a lawgiver{H2710}{(H8781)} from between his feet{H7272}, until{H3588} Shiloh{H7886} come{H935}{(H8799)}; and unto him shall the gathering{H3349} of the people{H5971} be. 11 Binding{H631}{(H8802)} his foal{H5895} unto the vine{H1612}, and his ass's{H860} colt{H1121} unto the choice vine{H8321}; he washed{H3526}{(H8765)} his garments{H3830} in wine{H3196}, and his clothes{H5497} in the blood{H1818} of grapes{H6025}: 12 His eyes{H5869} shall be red{H2447} with wine{H3196}, and his teeth{H8127} white{H3836} with milk{H2461}. 13 Zebulun{H2074} shall dwell{H7931}{(H8799)} at the haven{H2348} of the sea{H3220}; and he shall be for an haven{H2348} of ships{H591}; and his border{H3411} shall be unto Zidon{H6721}. 14 Issachar{H3485} is a strong{H1634} ass{H2543} couching down{H7257}{(H8802)} between two burdens{H4942}: 15 And he saw{H7200}{(H8799)} that rest{H4496} was good{H2896}, and the land{H776} that it was pleasant{H5276}{(H8804)}; and bowed{H5186}{(H8799)} his shoulder{H7926} to bear{H5445}{(H8800)}, and became a servant{H5647}{(H8802)} unto tribute{H4522}. 16 Dan{H1835} shall judge{H1777}{(H8799)} his people{H5971}, as one{H259} of the tribes{H7626} of Israel{H3478}. 17 Dan{H1835} shall be a serpent{H5175} by the way{H1870}, an adder{H8207} in the path{H734}, that biteth{H5391}{(H8802)} the horse{H5483} heels{H6119}, so that his rider{H7392}{(H8802)} shall fall{H5307}{(H8799)} backward{H268}. 18 I have waited for{H6960}{(H8765)} thy salvation{H3444}, O LORD{H3068}. 19 Gad{H1410}, a troop{H1416} shall overcome{H1464}{(H8799)} him: but he shall overcome{H1464}{(H8799)} at the last{H6119}. 20 Out of Asher{H836} his bread{H3899} shall be fat{H8082}, and he shall yield{H5414}{(H8799)} royal{H4428} dainties{H4574}. 21 Naphtali{H5321} is a hind{H355} let loose{H7971}{(H8803)}: he giveth{H5414}{(H8802)} goodly{H8233} words{H561}. 22 Joseph{H3130} is a fruitful{H6509}{(H8802)} bough{H1121}, even a fruitful{H6509}{(H8802)} bough{H1121} by a well{H5869}; whose branches{H1323} run{H6805}{(H8804)} over the wall{H7791}: 23 The archers{H1167}{H2671} have sorely grieved him{H4843}{(H8762)}, and shot{H7232}{(H8804)} at him, and hated him{H7852}{(H8799)}: 24 But his bow{H7198} abode{H3427}{(H8799)} in strength{H386}, and the arms{H2220} of his hands{H3027} were made strong{H6339}{(H8799)} by the hands{H3027} of the mighty{H46} God of Jacob{H3290};(from thence is the shepherd{H7462}{(H8802)}, the stone{H68} of Israel{H3478}:) 25 Even by the God{H410} of thy father{H1}, who shall help{H5826}{(H8799)} thee; and by{H854} the Almighty{H7706}, who shall bless{H1288}{(H8762)} thee with blessings{H1293} of heaven{H8064} above{H5920}, blessings{H1293} of the deep{H8415} that lieth{H7257}{(H8802)} under, blessings{H1293} of the breasts{H7699}, and of the womb{H7356}: 26 The blessings{H1293} of thy father{H1} have prevailed{H1396}{(H8804)} above the blessings{H1293} of my progenitors{H2029}{(H8802)} unto the utmost bound{H8379} of the everlasting{H5769} hills{H1389}: they shall be on the head{H7218} of Joseph{H3130}, and on the crown of the head{H6936} of him that was separate{H5139} from his brethren{H251}. 27 Benjamin{H1144} shall ravin{H2963}{(H8799)} as a wolf{H2061}: in the morning{H1242} he shall devour{H398}{(H8799)} the prey{H5706}, and at night{H6153} he shall divide{H2505}{(H8762)} the spoil{H7998}. 28 All these are the twelve{H6240}{H8147} tribes{H7626} of Israel{H3478}: and this is it that their father{H1} spake{H1696}{(H8765)} unto them, and blessed{H1288}{(H8762)} them; every{H834} one{H376} according to his blessing{H1293} he blessed{H1288}{(H8765)} them. 29 And he charged{H6680}{(H8762)} them, and said{H559}{(H8799)} unto them, I am to be gathered{H622}{(H8737)} unto my people{H5971}: bury{H6912}{(H8798)} me with my fathers{H1} in the cave{H4631} that is in the field{H7704} of Ephron{H6085} the Hittite{H2850}, 30 In the cave{H4631} that is in the field{H7704} of Machpelah{H4375}, which is before{H6440} Mamre{H4471}, in the land{H776} of Canaan{H3667}, which Abraham{H85} bought{H7069}{(H8804)} with the field{H7704} of Ephron{H6085} the Hittite{H2850} for a possession{H272} of a buryingplace{H6913}. 31 There they buried{H6912}{(H8804)} Abraham{H85} and Sarah{H8283} his wife{H802}; there they buried{H6912}{(H8804)} Isaac{H3327} and Rebekah{H7259} his wife{H802}; and there I buried{H6912}{(H8804)} Leah{H3812}. 32 The purchase{H4735} of the field{H7704} and of the cave{H4631} that is therein was from the children{H1121} of Heth{H2845}. 33 And when Jacob{H3290} had made an end{H3615}{(H8762)} of commanding{H6680}{(H8763)} his sons{H1121}, he gathered up{H622}{(H8799)} his feet{H7272} into the bed{H4296}, and yielded up the ghost{H1478}{(H8799)}, and was gathered{H622}{(H8735)} unto his people{H5971}.
