And Nathan said, My lord, O king, have you said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?

37As the LORD has been with my lord the king, so may He be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord King David.
42And while he yet spoke, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came; and Adonijah said to him, Come in, for you are a valiant man and bring good news.
43And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily, our lord King David has made Solomon king.
44And the king has sent with him Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king's mule.
15According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.
16And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who am I, O LORD God, and what is my house, that you have brought me this far?
30even as I swore to you by the LORD God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my place; even so will I certainly do this day.
31Then Bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord King David live forever.
32And King David said, Call Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada to me. And they came before the king.
22And King Solomon answered and said to his mother, And why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also; for he is my elder brother—for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.
23Then King Solomon swore by the Lord, saying, God do so to me, and more, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life.
24Now therefore, as the Lord lives, who has established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who has made me a house, as He promised, Adonijah shall be put to death today.
17According to all these words and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David.
46And also Solomon sits on the throne of the kingdom.
47Moreover, the king's servants came to bless our lord King David, saying, May God make the name of Solomon better than your name, and make his throne greater than your throne. And the king bowed himself upon the bed.
48And also thus said the king, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who has granted one to sit on my throne this day, my own eyes seeing it.
5Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king; and he prepared for himself chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.
3And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in your heart; for the LORD is with you.
4And it happened that night, that the word of the LORD came to Nathan, saying,
7Nathan said to David, You are the man. Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul.

19Bathsheba therefore went to King Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself to her, and sat down on his throne, and had a seat set for the king's mother; and she sat at his right hand.
13David said to Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. Nathan said to David, The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die.
7And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest; and they followed Adonijah and helped him.
8But Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty men who belonged to David, were not with Adonijah.
8And Solomon said to God, You have shown great mercy to David my father, and have made me to reign in his place.
4That the Lord may continue His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, If your children take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you a man on the throne of Israel.
