  • Ezek 34:2-5 : 2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD to the shepherds; Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? 3 You eat the fat, and clothe yourselves with the wool, you kill them that are fed: but you do not feed the flock. 4 The diseased you have not strengthened, nor have you healed that which was sick, nor have you bound up that which was broken, nor have you brought back that which was driven away, nor have you sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty you have ruled them. 5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became food for all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.

But he will eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their hooves in pieces. 17 Woe to the worthless shepherd who leaves the flock! The sword shall be against his arm and against his right eye. His arm shall be completely withered, and his right eye shall be totally blinded.

They have a heart trained in covetous practices and are accursed children. 15 They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 16 But was rebuked for his iniquity; the dumb donkey speaking with a man's voice restrained the madness of the prophet. 17 These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, to whom the blackness of darkness is reserved forever. 18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through wantonness, those who have barely escaped from those who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a man is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage.
