18and saw the Lord saying to me,‘Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.’
19I replied,‘Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat those in the various synagogues who believed in you.
11If then I am in the wrong and have done anything that deserves death, I am not trying to escape dying, but if not one of their charges against me is true, no one can hand me over to them. I appeal to Caesar!”
21For this reason the Jews, after they seized me while I was in the temple courts, were trying to kill me.
15“Men, why are you doing these things? We too are men, with human natures just like you! We are proclaiming the good news to you, so that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and everything that is in them.
8When you examine him yourself, you will be able to learn from him about all these things we are accusing him of doing.”
24Then Festus said,“King Agrippa, and all you who are present here with us, you see this man about whom the entire Jewish populace petitioned me both in Jerusalem and here, shouting loudly that he ought not to live any longer.
30So the king got up, and with him the governor and Bernice and those sitting with them,
40For we are in danger of being charged with rioting today, since there is no cause we can give to explain this disorderly gathering.”
22What then should we do? They will no doubt hear that you have come.
