Verse 18

They tempted God in their heart by asking food according to their desire.

Num 11:4 : 4 The mixed multitude that was among them lusted exceedingly: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, "Who will give us flesh to eat?
1 Cor 10:9 : 9 Neither let us test the Lord, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents.
Jas 4:2-3 : 2 You lust, and don't have. You kill, covet, and can't obtain. You fight and make war. You don't have, because you don't ask. 3 You ask, and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures.
Exod 16:2-3 : 2 The whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness; 3 and the children of Israel said to them, "We wish that we had died by the hand of Yahweh in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots, when we ate our fill of bread, for you have brought us out into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger."

Ps 95:9 : 9 when your fathers tempted me, tested me, and saw my work.
Ps 106:14-15 : 14 but gave in to craving in the desert, and tested God in the wasteland. 15 He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.
