2that ye be not quickly shaken in mind, nor be troubled, neither through spirit, neither through word, neither through letters as through us, as that the day of Christ hath arrived;
2to be mindful of the sayings said before by the holy prophets, and of the command of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour,
1For yourselves have known, brethren, our entrance in unto you, that it did not become vain,
9for they themselves concerning us do declare what entrance we had unto you, and how ye did turn unto God from the idols, to serve a living and true God,
10when He may come to be glorified in his saints, and to be wondered at in all those believing -- because our testimony was believed among you -- in that day;
1And I, having come unto you, brethren, came -- not in superiority of discourse or wisdom -- declaring to you the testimony of God,
17for we are not as the many, adulterating the word of God, but as of sincerity -- but as of God; in the presence of God, in Christ we do speak.
2but did renounce for ourselves the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor deceitfully using the word of God, but by the manifestation of the truth recommending ourselves unto every conscience of men, before God;
20foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, and manifested in the last times because of you,
14not giving heed to Jewish fables and commands of men, turning themselves away from the truth;
21`It behoveth, therefore, of the men who did go with us during all the time in which the Lord Jesus went in and went out among us,
10ye `are' witnesses -- God also -- how kindly and righteously, and blamelessly to you who believe we became,
20for we cannot but speak what we did see and hear.'
3As all things to us His divine power (the things pertaining unto life and piety) hath given, through the acknowledgement of him who did call us through glory and worthiness,
6according as the testimony of the Christ was confirmed in you,
12to Demetrius testimony hath been given by all, and by the truth itself, and we also -- we do testify, and ye have known that our testimony is true.
3how shall we escape, having neglected so great salvation? which a beginning receiving -- to be spoken through the Lord -- by those having heard was confirmed to us,
5for not ourselves do we preach, but Christ Jesus -- Lord, and ourselves your servants because of Jesus;
6because `it is' God who said, Out of darkness light `is' to shine, who did shine in our hearts, for the enlightening of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
2who did testify the word of God, and the testimony of Jesus Christ, as many things also as he did see.
16and out of his fulness did we all receive, and grace over-against grace;
3for our exhortation `is' not out of deceit, nor out of uncleanness, nor in guile,
2in these last days did speak to us in a Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He did make the ages;
8whom, not having seen, ye love, in whom, now not seeing and believing, ye are glad with joy unspeakable and glorified,
13Because of this also, we -- we do give thanks to God continually, that, having received the word of hearing from us of God, ye accepted, not the word of man, but as it is truly, the word of God, who also doth work in you who believe;
4and my word and my preaching was not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power --
8See to yourselves that ye may not lose the things that we wrought, but a full reward may receive;
