Verse 1

As he went out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, Master, see what kind of stones and what buildings are here!

Verse 2

And Jesus, answering, said to him, See these great buildings? There shall not be one stone left upon another, which shall not be thrown down.

Verse 3

As he sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately,

Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

And Jesus, answering them, began to say, Take heed lest anyone deceive you:

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many.

And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled: for such things must occur; but the end is not yet.

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be earthquakes in various places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

Verse 9

But take heed to yourselves, for they shall deliver you to councils; and in the synagogues you shall be beaten; and you shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

Verse 10

And the gospel must first be published among all nations.

But when they lead you and deliver you up, do not think beforehand what you shall speak, nor premeditate: but whatever shall be given you in that hour, speak that: for it is not you that speak, but the Holy Spirit.

Verse 12

Now brother shall betray brother to death, and father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

Verse 13

And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake, but he that endures to the end, the same shall be saved.

Verse 14

But when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let the reader understand,) then let them that are in Judea flee to the mountains:

Verse 15

And let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house:

Verse 16

And let him who is in the field not turn back again to take up his garment.

And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.

Verse 17

But woe to those who are with child, and to those who nurse infants in those days!

But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

Verse 18

And pray that your flight be not in the winter.

And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.

Verse 19

For in those days will be affliction, such as has not been from the beginning of creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be.

Verse 20

And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he has chosen, he has shortened the days.

Verse 21

And then if anyone says to you, Look, here is Christ; or, Look, he is there; do not believe it:

Verse 22

For false Christs and false prophets will rise, and will show signs and wonders, to seduce, if possible, even the elect.

Verse 23

But take heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

And then they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

And then he shall send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of the earth to the farthest part of heaven.

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; when its branch is yet tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near:

So you also, when you see these things come to pass, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Truly I say to you, that this generation shall not pass until all these things are done.

Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

Verse 31

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Verse 32

But of that day and that hour no one knows, no, not the angels which are in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father.

But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Verse 33

Take heed, watch and pray: for you do not know when the time is.

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Verse 34

For the Son of Man is like a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch.

Verse 35

Watch therefore: for you do not know when the master of the house comes, in the evening, or at midnight, or at the rooster crowing, or in the morning:

Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
