40And Elijah said to them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.
41And Elijah said to Ahab, Get up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
9Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him, and behold, he sat on the top of a hill. And he spoke to him, Man of God, the king has said, Come down.
10And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty. And fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.
11Again he sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said to him, O man of God, thus says the king, Come down quickly.

14Behold, there came fire down from heaven and burned up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties; therefore, let my life now be precious in your sight.

15And Elijah said, As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself to him today.

11And now you say, Go, tell your lord, Behold, Elijah is here.
10And he said, I have been very zealous for the LORD God of hosts, for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.
16And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;
28And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when you spoke to me; and the LORD said to me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken to you: they have spoken well all that they have spoken.
17And the LORD said to me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
14Go and cry to the gods which you have chosen; let them deliver you in your time of distress.
