  • Num 36:2-9 : 2 And they said, The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel, and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters. 3 And if they are married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then their inheritance will be taken from the inheritance of our fathers and will be added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they are received; thus it will be taken from the lot of our inheritance. 4 And when the jubilee of the children of Israel shall be, then their inheritance will be added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they are received; so their inheritance will be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers. 5 And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph has spoken well. 6 This is what the LORD commands concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry whom they think best; only within the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry. 7 So the inheritance of the children of Israel shall not transfer from tribe to tribe; for each of the children of Israel shall keep to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers. 8 And every daughter that possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel shall marry one of the family of the tribe of her father, so that each of the children of Israel may enjoy the inheritance of his fathers. 9 Thus the inheritance shall not transfer from one tribe to another tribe; but each tribe of the children of Israel shall keep to its own inheritance.

  • Jer 34:13-17 : 13 Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage, saying, 14 At the end of seven years let every man set free his Hebrew brother, who has been sold to you; and when he has served you six years, you shall let him go free from you. But your fathers did not listen to me, nor incline their ear. 15 And you had now turned and done what was right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbor; and you had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name. 16 But you turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom you had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return and brought them into subjection, to be your servants and your handmaids. 17 Therefore thus says the LORD: You have not listened to me in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbor; behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, says the LORD, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.

Break forth and shout, you who are not in labor! For the desolate has many more children than she who has a husband.' 28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise. 29 But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. 30 Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? 'Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.' 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free. 1 Stand firm therefore in the freedom with which Christ has made us free, and do not become entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
